10 Days Best of Uganda Safari

10 Days Best of Uganda Safari unleashes the best an Uganda safari has to offer. You will visit top safari destinations including Murchison falls, Kibale forest, Queen Elizabeth park, Bwindi, and Lake Mburo NP.

You will sum up the big 5 and Uganda primates just in 10 Days.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel in Entebbe / Kampala and drive to Murchison falls national park. Along the way, you will visit the Ziwa rhino sanctuary – the only place where you can see rhinos in Uganda!

Take part in Rhino tracking and proceed with lunch en route. You will enter the park through Kichumbanyobo gate and visit the top of the falls and then proceed for dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge

Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise – Murchison Falls

Early morning breakfast and then go for a game drive where you will spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, and Uganda kobs among others. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the park’s main tourist attraction the unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodiles along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge as above

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will have breakfast and then drive to Kibale. En route, you will visit the amber ganyinamwiru stalagmites and waterfalls site in Fort Portal and the crater lakes. Have lunch and proceed to Kibale arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee forest guest house

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking – Kibale forest & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP.

Take an early morning breakfast and go for a briefing and start chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s 795 km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is the place for several forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primates coupled with chimpanzees.

After trekking, you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland where you will experience a lot of bird life and unspoiled nature! Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Hub Lode

Day 5: Game drive and launch cruise- Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will go for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector, you may spot various animals like elephants, Uganda kobs, and leopards among others. Return to the lodge for a late breakfast and visit the Katwe salt pans where you will encounter the locals undertaking salt mining.

Have lunch and in the afternoon, go for a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will spot various wildlife like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various birds, most of them on the sandbanks. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Hub Lode as above.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi

After having breakfast, you will set off for Bwindi passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where you may spot some tree-climbing lions. You will have lunch en route, arriving in Bwindi in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

Note: If you arrive at the lodge early, there are several optional activities you can undertake including visiting the Batwa people or a village walk.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking – Bwindi

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing and go gorilla trekking. This could take 4-8 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas. After trekking, you will return to the starting point for your gorilla trekking certificate and return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge as above.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Kabale

Have breakfast at leisure and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale known as the Switzerland of Africa! The drive itself is enjoyable with scenic landscapes and misty distant views of the Virunga Mountains.
Have lunch in Kabale town and proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat cruise to Bushara Island where you will enjoy a rejuvenating nature walk on the forest trail with great bird-viewing opportunities! Depart Bushara and return to the loading site and proceed to Bunyonyi Eco Resort for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Boat ride and Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

You will have breakfast and go for a boat ride on the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi – composed of 36 Islands each with its story! You will visit some of the major islands including Punishment Island, Bushara Island, and leper’s Island among others where you will see a good number of birds and learn more about the people.

Later transfer to Lake Mburo national park with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch arriving at Lake Mburo late afternoon / early evening. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock.

Day 10: Game drive and transfer back to Kampala

Enjoy an early morning game drive; the park is home to herds of Impala, as well as the more uncommon Topi, Eland, and Klipspringer. This will be the last of your 10 Days safari so we’ll make it count.

Burchells Zebra and buffalo also graze the area together with the newly introduced Giraffes. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch, and then drive back to Kampala and drop off at your lodge or Entebbe airport for your onward flight marking the end of your 10 Days Best of Uganda Safari.
