Tours Overview

Experience the incredible wildlife and breathtaking landscapes of northern Tanzania on this 3-Day Tanzania Camping Safari with Crown Eagle Adventures. This budget-friendly adventure takes you to three of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife destinations: Tarangire National Park, the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park.

Enjoy exciting game drives across diverse landscapes, from Tarangire’s ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds to the wildlife-rich floor of Ngorongoro Crater and the lush forests of Lake Manyara. With some luck, you may spot Africa’s famous Big Five: lion, leopard, African elephant, buffalo, and the endangered black rhinoceros.

Your adventure begins and ends in Arusha, making this safari ideal for travelers looking for an unforgettable wildlife experience within a short time and on an affordable budget. Accommodation is provided at public campsites, offering an authentic African wilderness experience beneath the stars.

If you arrive the day before your safari, our team will arrange an airport transfer to your accommodation in Arusha. Your guide will provide a short briefing before the adventure begins the following morning.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be welcomed by a representative from Crown Eagle Adventures and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha.

Relax after your journey and prepare for your upcoming safari. Depending on your arrival time, you may have an opportunity to explore Arusha town before enjoying your overnight stay.

Accommodation: Arusha Tourist Inn
Meals: BB

After breakfast, your safari guide will meet you at your hotel for a briefing before departing for Tarangire National Park. The journey takes you through the scenic countryside of northern Tanzania, with opportunities to make any last-minute purchases along the way.

Tarangire is renowned for its impressive elephant population, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. The Tarangire River provides an important water source, attracting animals throughout the year, particularly during the dry season.

During your game drive, look out for elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and numerous antelope species. With luck, you may also encounter less commonly seen animals such as the greater kudu and fringe-eared oryx.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day before continuing your wildlife exploration. In the late afternoon, leave the park and drive to Panorama Public Campsite, or a similar campsite in the Lake Manyara area.

Upon arrival, relax as your safari cook prepares dinner. Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the African wilderness.

Accommodation: Ese Manyara Eco Lodge
Meals: Lunch and dinner

After breakfast at the campsite, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, traveling through the scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley and the green highlands around Karatu.

After completing the entrance formalities, continue to the Ngorongoro Crater rim, where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views and take photographs of this extraordinary natural landmark.

Descend into the crater for an exciting game drive across its grasslands, forests, wetlands, and lakes. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact, unfilled volcanic caldera and supports an exceptional concentration of wildlife within a relatively compact area.

During your exploration, look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hyenas, hippos, and a variety of antelope species. Ngorongoro is also one of the best places in Tanzania to look for the endangered black rhinoceros. Birdlife is abundant, with flamingos and other waterbirds sometimes seen around the crater’s lakes.

Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before continuing your game drive. With favorable conditions and a little luck, you may spot all five members of the Big Five during your safari.

In the afternoon, ascend the crater walls and begin your return journey toward the Lake Manyara area. Weather and visibility permitting, stop at a viewpoint along the Great Rift Valley escarpment to admire the surrounding scenery.

Arrive at Panorama Public Campsite, or a similar campsite, for dinner and your overnight stay.

Accommodation: Ese Manyara Eco Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a final day of wildlife viewing.

Although relatively compact, Lake Manyara offers a remarkable variety of habitats, including groundwater forests, open grasslands, woodland, and the shallow alkaline lake. These environments support a wide range of wildlife and bird species.

During your game drive, look for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, impalas, hippos, and other animals. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are never guaranteed.

The lake attracts numerous waterbirds, including flamingos when conditions are suitable, as well as pelicans, storks, and other aquatic species. The park’s lush vegetation and scenic surroundings provide a wonderful setting for your final safari experience.

Enjoy a picnic lunch before leaving the park in the afternoon. Depending on your schedule, you may stop in Mto wa Mbu for a brief visit to the local markets or to purchase souvenirs.

Continue to Arusha for a hotel drop-off or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, depending on your onward travel arrangements and flight time.
